I have been going through a rough time in the past few months and many times I find myself questioning when it will ever get better. Yet, day after day I filled myself full of sorrow and always seem to forget that I am blessed – even in my bad times.
I struggled to have motivation to do anything from schoolwork, athletics, relationships and much more. Sometimes, I would even pull other people down with my sadness because I was just always complaining and feeling sorry for myself.
When I step back and look at my situation, I really did not have it near as bad as I felt I did. Now that I am out of that situation, I see all the blessings that I have and that were always there for me along the way.
The reason I was (and am) always blessed is because God was always there with me. The people He put in my path to help me along my way, and even help me look to God, are big reason that I didn’t fall apart more than I tried to fall apart.
Much like walking with a blindfold on, a lot of times we can not see what is ahead of us in life. Yet, God tells us in His scripture that He will direct you.
38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God uses these verses to explain just how powerful he is and how strong his love for us is. He explains that no powers on or off of the earth, not natural or supernatural, or any powers that presently or do not presently exist, can separate us from Him.
The God who made the Heavens and the earth will never be conquered or even beaten by anything or anyone. In case you’ve forgotten, the end is already written and God is now and forever will be victorious. Nothing will ever be able to separate God from us.
So, next time you’re feeling out of reach and even feel full of sorrow, remember that God loves you more than your mind and heart can fathom. His love never fails, and it will never run out. When you can’t see God, just open your eyes and actually look for Him. I promise you He is always there with his hand reaching out for you.
